Broken Hill Scouts set a great benchmark by delivering 9,000 Yellow Pages Books!
With over 9,000 Yellow Pages Books distributed, the 3rd Broken Hill Scouts are making an impact that needs to be recognised. With the Scout Group having a 75-year history of fundraising, they’ve always been willing to try new initiatives. With this being their first year as part of the Yellow Pages project, the group has been able to access their local community in a new way – giving them the opportunity to educate others about their cause, while also fundraising.
The 35 strong Scout pack, accompanied by their parents works very hard all year round to help their club – with their work ensuring that everyone can attend regular camps, and allowing them to undertake improvements to their hall. Having the parents involved in the distribution of their 9,000 Yellow Pages books gave everyone the opportunity to do some bonding while meeting and greeting members of the community. And with each family taking on a specific location, the teams had all the distribution maps covered (in no time!).
Broken Hill Scouts really embody the spirit and attitude we look for from our Yellow Pages teams. And while it’s hard work, there are lots of upside “not least the financial benefits to our group” – said the clubs leader. “We also had fun doing it!”
