Since 2007 GDR Media Group has enjoyed a strong partnership with the Yellow Pages. Previously under the ownership of Australian company Sensis Pty Ltd and now American group Thryv we have grown to become the major distributor of the Yellow Pages books across Australia. From Broome in regional Western Australia to remote areas such as Lightning Ridge in NSW, our teams travel the length and breadth of Australia delivering millions of these necessary directories to households to ensure they have access to businesses and government agencies when the internet inevitably fails.

It is possibly one of the largest logistics operations in the country involving detailed planning, preparation, transport and warehousing facilities as well as thousands of ordinary Australians providing jobs and funding opportunities to community groups, locals and backpackers every year.

How it works

Every year our Yellow Pages Project team are responsible for ensuring the safe and timely delivery of more than 65 different Yellow Pages titles to local areas across Australia. To ensure this massive project is achieved without issues, GDR has developed a proprietary online Application to simplify this complicated and multi-faceted operation including managing warehousing stock receipts and despatches, deliveries by thousands of distributors, providing GPS tracking to verify delivery and allow for daily updates on delivery progress across multiple markets.

We achieve this by implementing our customised project plan that involves the following steps:

Yellow Pages Step by Step Process

Scope of Works

Review the detailed scope of works from Thryv outlining the number of book titles, the targeted delivery areas in each market, volume to be distributed, start and end dates and KPIs.

Transport & Warehousing

Lock in transport transfers from printer to up to 100 warehouse locations across the country to coincide with start dates.

Data Analysis & Mapping

GIS mapping and analysis team review the data for each book and produce customised delivery maps to represent the targeted demographic and segments that the client has requested.

Application Managements

Software engineers and IT team build the distribution runs for all 65 delivery markets into our proprietary Yellow Pages online application.

Distribution Management

Project Coordinators are allocated to every book and manage the allocation, distribution and supervision of the books to that market.

Troubleshooting

Senior Project managers oversee and coordinate the entire operation and respond within 4 hours to any distribution issues. All complaints are managed and resolved within 24-72 hours.

GPS
Tracking

Our project team reviews GPS reports from all teams daily and flags any suspected issues to local coordinators for immediate visual inspection.

Monitoring

Thryv managers have access to the online App to monitor the distribution across all live markets on a daily basis.

Reporting & Compliance

At the end of each project our team provide detailed reports to Thryv including quantities delivered into each map area for each book, as well as environmental compliance reports that meet regulatory standards.
